during the years when i was an active jw i never questioned the ban on blood transfusion.
i have been inactive now for a number of years and even during those early years i reasoned i will never accept a blood transfusion.
however, thinking about it with an open mind, i question the current teaching of jw's on banning blood transfusion on any account even if it means saving a life.
Like that 'marriage ring' logic, NOTSURE.
Was just thinking about this myself. . . The command in Lev to drain the blood and not eat it - was this a "ceremonial cleanness" issue or a moral issue? For instance, a moral issue would be not stealing, it's morally wrong. But is the eating of blood more like the command not to eat a ham sandwich?

Dude, I hate to sound "flippant". . .
. . .but I believe I will win the Powerball because it seems like the best possible thing to me. I can even envision clearly in my mind winning the Powerball and all the good stuff I will do with the money: give to charities; send all of the kids in my family to good schools; pay off everyone's mortgages.
We all envision great and wonderful things for ourselves, our families, and the world. That doesn't mean it will ever happen.
Do the best with what you've got. That is a realistic goal.
on another forum, somebody mentioned that there is a growing belief with those high up in watchtower hierarchy that the great tribulation will begin april 3, 2015. evidently, one has to check the skycharts for that date and compare with 33 ceand also compare with the history of jws for past 40, 80, 120 years.

You really need to look deeply at why you believe that. What is the source of that belief, and how trustworthy is it?
Then again, if you're just daydreaming "Wouldn't it be nice. . . " then you don't really need anything to back it up.
